ICE You are now a familiar face for all of us, but would you tell us how you initially started out?

Munmun I initially learnt singing at Taranga Lolita Kala and learnt dancing at Bulbul Lolita Kala. They used to do regular stage shows and dramas, and that is how I initially started performing on stage. One memorable event for me at the Academy was the time when we were all invited to Calcutta Shanti Niketan to perform there, which I greatly enjoyed. I must thank Ms. Chitra Sultana from the academy, for she greatly influenced me at that time.

I What was your first experience on television?

M When I was in class five, I did the Banoful Lacha Shemai advertisement. After that I did a few other commercials for Igloo Icecream, Fresh Milk, Pran Drinks, etc. Then slowly I started acting in drama serials as well.

I Can you name some programmes which greatly touched your heart?

M The drama “Keu Kotha Rakhe Na” is one where I lead character, of a handicapped daughter who was abandoned by her father and had no one to talk to .There was just a tree outside her window which was her only companion, and it was a powerful role which I really enjoyed playing .Then on Channel I I hosted a show called “ Travelers` Travel Show”-that was also a lot of fun for me .When Ekushey TV started out they had the first computer program on TV- I was the IT news representer and that was also very interesting for me.

I You are often seen anchoring many programs. How did that happen to you?

M I was a participant in The Lux Channel I Superstar pageant in 2006 and in 2007 they asked me to anchor it. After that I also anchored Lakme Next Gen Designer Search .Nowadays I'm hosting Amar Ami.

I What would you mark as an important landmark in your career?

M The Lux Channel I Superstar really did help a lot since they had a grooming process which helped polish up my singing, dancing and acting talents. I also featured in a film right after that show , and shooting for this film Daruchini Deep was a wonderful experience for me.

I What are your goals for the next few years?

M I hope to complete my Masters in Economics soon, and after that I intend to start working somewhere. But no matter what job I get into I will certainly keep on working with the Media.

One hilarious incident I remember When we were shooting for Daruchini Deep I had to stand in the corner of a trawler which was taking us to St. Martin, and it was a very risky thing to do because the wind was whipping around us. On top of that I had to shoot for a romantic scene in that situation, which was hilarious

One thing that people do not know about me I is that a documentary film I did 10 years ago, called Chana O MuktiJudho, just recently got released.
